Bee Conservation Project BCP has partnership with some local and international organizations, which focus on bees, beekeeping, apitherapy and related issues with a view to accelerating the development of beekeeping industry in Nigeria.

They are:

German Apitherapy Society: This is a body of German apitherapists and beekeepers operating as a non-profit organisation to advance health care through research into medical effects and uses of bee products. As BCP partner, the German Apitherapy Society is giving technical support towards the development of apitherapy as a healing paradigm to reinforce health care in Nigeria.

Pharma Nectar Brazil: Pharma Nectar was founded as a beekeeping company in 1980 but later diversified into processing of bee products under the apitherapy point of view. Stimulated by the amazing healing power of bee products, Pharma Nectar is fully committed to promotion of apitherapy from scientific points of view. To be able to do this successfully, the company needs alliance of doctors, researchers and apitherapists worldwide, hence the partnership with BCP to spread its tentacles to Nigeria.

University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB): UNAAB is of one of the three universities of Agriculture established by the Nigerian Government with a tripodal mandate for Teaching, Research and Extension services. Because beekeeping is core part of agriculture, BCP has partnership with UNAAB to promote the development of agriculture in order to redress poverty, unemployment, hunger, diseases and environmental problems in Nigeria.

Justice, Development and Peace Commission, JDPC Ijebu Ode: JDPC is a non-profit organisation established by the Catholic Church to address the issues of social justice, economic development and human rights. JDPC promotes beekeeping as part of its economic empowerment programs, hence its partnership with BCP, which is fully committed to the development of beekeeping and apitherapy as the pivot of sustainable human development.

 


West African Management Development Institutes Network WAMDEVIN, Badagry: WAMDEVIN is a network of Management Development Institutes in Anglophone West African Countries. Besides its primary focus of strengthening the professional competence of faculty staff of its affiliate institutes, WAMDEVIN also helps in building the capacity of organizations engaged in job creation and poverty alleviation. Hence, the nature of partnership between BCP and WAMDEVIN is collaboration to train the employed youth on the intricacies of beekeeping as a means of job creation

Beekeeping Extension Society, Kaduna: This society was founded by Alhaji Idris M. B. Zaria, in 1996 to teach traditional beekeepers in Zaria and other parts of Kaduna State the intricacies of modern beekeeping and organize them into groups. The partnership between Beekeeping Extension Society and BCP is to promote the development beekeeping and apitherapy as tools for economic empowerment in our rural communities.

Ashoka Innovators for the Public: Ashoka is a global not- for - profit civil sector organisation committed to building the profession of leading Social Entrepreneurs. It is based in the United States of America. Since 2002, Ashoka has been the source of lifeline in cash and kind to Bee Conservation Project. But for Ashoka's kind donation, BCP achievements would not have been in leaps and bounds in Nigeria and globally within a spate of two years. Big thanks to Ashoka and its founder, Mr. William Drayton for helping to entrench BCP as the pivot of sustainable human development.

Food and Agriculture Organisation FAO: FAO is a United Nations agency with focus on the development of agriculture to redress hunger and food insecurity worldwide. BCP has benefited from FAO to the tune of 10,000 dollars under its Telefood Special Program. The grant was used to procure equipment for a group of rural people trained in the art of beekeeping by BCP at Alabidun Village, Akanran, Ibadan, South West Nigeria.


Leap Africa/Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship: The latest support for Bee Conservation Project came through collaborative efforts of Leap Africa, a Lagos based NGO and Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship based in Switzerland. These two organizations are creating a range of opportunities for BCP's Executive Director to participate in domestic and international events with a view to strengthening the relationship of BCP with international donors and increase its organizational profile. The package of support also include training and capacity building to enable BCP achieve widespread impact as well as increasing the effectiveness of its Executive Director as a change agent.
